YEREVAN. - Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and his Finnish counterpart Timo Soini on Monday exchanged messages on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. 

In his message, FM Nalbandian noted with satisfaction that the bilateral relations between Armenia and Finland are based on high level of trust and respect.  He also stressed that Armenia attaches great importance to the cooperation with Finland.

According to the Armenian FM, during the 25 years, the cooperation between the countries has developed, coming to include various spheres of mutual interest. Apart from this, Nalbandian stressed that Armenia values the cooperation with Finland also within the framework of international organizations, greatly contributing to the global efforts towards finding solutions to global challenges and expectations. Moreover, Nalbandian added that only part of the existing potential in the bilateral relations has been used, expressing hope that the cooperation between Armenian and Finland will further enhance and expand.

Timo Soini, for his part, noted that Finland and Armenia have long-time friendly ties. He stressed that during more than two decades, the bilateral cooperation between the states has ensured common achievements, there being all the reasons for being proud of this.

FM Soini also added that Finland wants to further strengthen its friendly relations with Armenia. Furthermore, he expressed satisfaction with the conclusion of talks on the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between EU and Armenia, expressing conviction that it will further strengthen the deepening of relations between EU and Armenia.
