YEREVAN. – If we put aside natural monopolies, I can surely say that there are no monopolies in Armenia.

The Minister of Economic Development and Investments, Suren Karayan, told the aforementioned to reporters, after Friday’s Cabinet session of the government.

Reflecting on US Ambassador Richard Mills’ recent statement—according to which, once there are conditions for free competition in Armenia, there will be many investments in the country—Karayan noted that these conditions do exist, but they are constantly taking steps to ensure equal competition, and that this is an ongoing process.

“The investors will be tempted,” the minister added. “They will come to Armenia.”

As for investments from the European Union (EU), Suren Karayan stated that they have had numerous respective talks, and many partners from European countries visit Armenia.
