Armenia’s participation in UN peacekeeping missions bespeaks our decisive commitment to contribute to peace and stability.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, on Sunday stated the aforementioned in his address at the 34th Conference of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

“Dear Ms. [OIF] Secretary-General, I wish to also reaffirm our [Armenia’s] support to your consistent activities, which are aimed at furthering peace, democracy, [and] human rights in the francophone expanse,” Nalbandian also said, in particular. “In this context, I wish to stress Armenia’s commitment.

“Today, we are forced to face the constant threat of terrorism. I wish (…) to re-express our full support to the international community’s efforts in the fight against this vice.

“As for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, I would like to once again underscore what is noted in the resolutions that were adopted at the last three La Francophonie summits, where our full support to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs [to resolve this conflict] (…) are reaffirmed.

“We believe that La Francophonie’s policy on the equality of rights of women and men can be included among the series of documents that are intended for adoption at the [OIF] Yerevan summit to be held in 2018.

“Armenia supports the draft resolutions and decisions that are submitted for the approval of the [OIF] ministerial conference.”
