The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine calls on the authorities of the country to respect the rights of former Georgian presideny Mikheil Saakashvili, and hopes the investigation into his case will be conducted within the framework of the law, UNIAN reported.

According to the statement of the EU Delegation, EU are closely following this case and hopes that the investigation will be carried out in accordance with the law and on time.

The mission also calls on the Ukrainian authorities to respect Saakashvili’s rights.
