YEREVAN. – Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met with Carmelo Abela, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion of Malta, within the framework of the 24th meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council, in Vienna. 

At the beginning of the talk, Nalbandian congratulated Abela on assuming the office of FM of Malta, and expressed the hope that new impetus will be given to bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Subsequently, the interlocutors exchanged views on the steps to be taken to expand bilateral cooperation.

Also, the ministers reflected on the opportunities for intensifying trade and economic cooperation, and discussed the avenues for promoting cultural exchanges between Armenia and Malta.

In addition, they underscored the recent signing of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union.

And at the end of their meeting, Edward Nalbandian and Carmelo Abela signed an agreement between the Armenian and the Maltese governments, and with respect to cultural cooperation.
