YEREVAN. – Forcibly fighting against corruption is unacceptable in Armenia.

Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan on Friday told the aforementioned to reporters, at a conference on International Anti-Corruption Day.

In his view, Armenia’s measures in combating corruption are preventive, whereas human rights campaign with the use of force and numerous violations of human rights and freedoms is unacceptable for a democratic country like Armenia.

“We [Armenia] are trying to adopt the successful examples of international track-record,” Krmoyan noted, in particular.

He added that, unlike many other—including neighboring—countries, an independent anticorruption body has been established in Armenia, and unlawful accumulation of wealth has been criminalized in the country.
