YEREVAN. –  President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received Lebanese Ambassador Jean Makaron, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

First, President Sargsyan lauded Ambassador Makaron’s activities during his tenure in Armenia, and stressed that the diplomat greatly contributed to making Armenian-Lebanese relations grow deeper, press office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Also, the Armenian President thanked the Lebanese diplomat, wished him success in his future activities, and expressed the hope that the next Lebanese ambassador to Armenia will contribute to the intensification of bilateral state relations with the same enthusiasm.

The interlocutors shared the view that Armenia and Lebanon have succeeded in ensuring a high level of political discourse, carrying out mutually beneficial cooperation within international organizations, developing contacts in several domains, and enriching their legal and contractual framework.

In addition, Sargsyan and Makaron recorded that Lebanese investments into Armenia’s economy have increased to some extent in recent years.
