Professors of the University of Fatih in Istanbul, activities of which were suspended by the authorities after last year's coup attempt, were detained in Turkey.

As reported by the Turkish site Superhaber, the prosecutor's office of Istanbul, ordered the city police to detain professors using the ByLock mobile application, which, according to the authorities, is used by the supporters of cleric Fetullah Gulen.

A decision to detain more than 170 professors of the university was made.
