YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday met in Paris with president François de Rugy of the National Assembly (NA) of France.

Sargsyan underscored interparliamentary relations, press office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The President spoke with praise about the activities of the France-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, and which is aimed at the strengthening of Armenian-French ties.

Sargsyan lauded the French NA’s activities toward the international recognition and condemnation of Armenian Genocide.

The interlocutors spoke about Armenian-French close cooperation.

President Sargsyan highly appreciated the efforts by France, as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing country, to achieve a pacific resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict. In this context, he underscored French parliamentarians’ visits to Artsakh, and which, in his view, contribute to finding an equitable settlement to this conflict, and expose the deception which Azerbaijan disseminates regarding Artsakh.  

Also, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and French NA President François de Rugy reflected on Armenia-European Union relations, and their further development after the signing of the respective framework agreement.
