YEREVAN. – Armenian parliament’s sanding committee on state and legal affairs rejected amendments to the Electoral Code proposed by the Tsarukyan bloc.

The bill suggested introduction of amendments to the Electoral Code of Armenia, which implies the rejection of the rating system and the holding of parliamentary elections only on the basis of the nationwide proportional lists of candidates for deputies.

The bill was supported by representatives of the opposition Yelq bloc, but the Republican Party of Armenia that has a majority in the committee rejected the initiative
