YEREVAN. – An official dinner in honor of Lebanese President Michel Aun was organized in the residence of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

The presidents of the two countries exchanged toasts and touched upon interstate relations.

Serzh Sargsyan and Michel Aoun also talked about the common history of the two peoples and the ability to overcome difficulties together

President Sargsyan said the Armenian community in Lebanon is a strong element not only for bilateral relations, but also serves as a spiritual, cultural and educational impetus for Armenians all over the world.

“Well-known Arabic proverb says a true friend is one soul in two bodies. In my opinion, this saying is the best description of the Armenian-Lebanese relations,” Sargsyan said.

The President of Lebanon in his toast noted that he is in Armenia for the first time, and his visit has a special meaning, although it has an official and political character. He stressed that the Armenian community in Lebanon is an integral part of the Lebanese society.
