The mayor of Yerevan should not nonpartisan. Reformists’ Party mayoral candidate Artur Avetyan  expressed such a view at a press conference on Friday.

Avetyan noted that he is a nonpartisan candidate for mayor of the capital city of Armenia.

“I believe that a nonpartisan mayor should head Yerevan, since our objective is to improve Yerevan, and not getting involved in a political battle,” he explained.

Avetyan noted that none of the other political forces running in Sunday’s snap election for the Yerevan Council of Elders is an opponent of the reformists because all the contenders have but one goal: to work for the capital city.

The mayoral candidate assured that his team intends to present its program with work, and not by words.

Karen Vardanyan, a Reformists’ Party candidate for the Yerevan municipal council, added that they plan to run in the snap parliamentary election too.
