The global growing interest in China is obvious, the director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences Ruben Safrastyan said on Friday at the China-Eurasia international conference.

Participants emphasized the importance of the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative, which was first proposed by China in 2010 as an opportunity to combine the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Silk Road Projects.

According to experts, in this sense, an important role is played by the EU involvement in the project.

The Kazakh ambassador Timur Urazaev expressed the readiness of Astana to actively participate in international transport projects.

Dmitriy Semyonovic, senior adviser to the Belarusian embassy in Armenia on trade, economic, scientific, technical and investment issues, stressed that the subject matter is very important for the Eurasian Union members, in particular for his country, which is an active supporter of the Silk Road project.

The conference was organized jointly with the Council of Political and Strategic Studies “China –Eurasia”, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences and the Department of Oriental Studies of the International Science and Education Center of the National Academy of Sciences.
