The EU hopes that the US and Russia will use the remaining days to work to preserve INF treaty, as it is necessary for security on the European continent, said EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

"For the European Union, it (the INF Treaty) is key to our security. It is a fundamental pillar of our security architecture in Europe, and we want to see this preserved and fully implemented," TASS reported quoting Mogherini.

As reported earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Russia has two months to return to the implementation of the INF. If not, Washington will suspend its obligations under the INF. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in turn, said that Moscow strictly fulfills the agreement, and Washington is aware of this.
