YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Justice of Armenia will make use of new approaches and innovative methods, including when introducing digital mechanism reforms.

Acting Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Monday. He noted this as he summed up the results of the activities of his ministry, from May to December.

Zeynalyan said an administrative amnesty was implemented in Armenia, and which applied to more than 108 thousand people, and over 1,260,000 proceedings were halted.

Also, a criminal amnesty was declared, and as a result, over 550 convicts were released.

At the same time, a person who was serving a life sentence was set free for the first time in history of Armenia.

Furthermore, a video-link system was introduced between prisoners and their families.

In addition, convicts were granted the right to be issued an identification document.

The minister added that a new anticorruption strategy will soon be introduced.
