Some details about the Russian serviceman who is accused of killing 57-year-old Armenian woman in Gyumri were revealed.

According to information obtained by Armenian News-NEWS.am, 23-year-old driver A.R. is a contract serviceman at the #102 Russian base in Gyumri. His involvement in the crime was discovered through fiber analysis.

On December 2, a Gyumri woman—who was born in 1961—was ambulanced from a street to a Gyumri hospital where, however, she died. The woman was a cleaner who was working for the Gyumri city hall.

According to preliminary information, the woman was brutally beaten while going to work.

The Shirak Province investigation department opened a criminal case into this incident, and on charges of negligently causing death.

Earlier Russian embassy denied involvement of the Russian soldier in the crime. The suspect was detained by the Armenian law enforcement officers and was arrested. He was handed over to the Russian side.
