YEREVAN. – The events that occurred in Armenia have not changed the strategic nature of relations with Russia, Russian Ambassador Sergey said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Also, he wished success to Armenia’s new parliament and government in justifying the trust and fulfilling the expectations of the Armenian people.

“The Russian side is ready to assist Armenia with everything while resolving its problems,” Kopirkin assured. “It [Russia] is willing to do everything depending on it, so that the brotherly [Russian-Armenian] relations—with deep historical roots—deepen and develop.”

In the ambassador’s words, these relations should reach the level that is required in the current realities and rapidly changing world.

Sergey Kopirkin stressed that membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)—which comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan—has enabled to increase commodity turnover by 17 percent this year, and Armenia has increased its exports by 50 percent, over the past two years.
