YEREVAN. – Employees of the Ministries of Culture and Diaspora of Armenia, and who were demonstrating outside their ministries’ building since Friday morning, marched to the government building.

They are protesting the government’s intention to dissolve these two ministries.

And outside the government building, these demonstrators handed to a government representative their respective letter addressed to Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“We ask that a response be given [to this letter] by Monday [December 24] morning,” they said. “We demand a meeting with the [Acting] Prime Minister. If our request is not considered, we are ready to go on labor strike; we’ll do a sit-in, too.”

After handing the letter, the protesters dispersed.

As a result of reorganization of the Armenian government structure, the number of ministries is expected to be reduced from 17 to 12.
