Ruins of the ancient city of Ani have become a favorite destination for Turkey’s local tourists arriving in Kars from capital city Ankara, on board the Eastern Express, in winter, according to Anadolu news agency.

It is noted that the visits to Ani, which is on the UNESCO list, have increased three times in winter.

Sadly, the word “Armenian,” or “Armenia” is absent in this report, too.

Ani is a ruined medieval Armenian city now situated in Turkey’s Kars Province, and next to the closed border with Armenia.
