Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore, in Davos, Switzerland.

Pashinyan noted that Armenia looks toward the expansion of cooperation with Singapore and the latter’s track-record of development is exemplary for Armenia. Also, the PM considered it indispensable to send signals to Singaporean businesses about the opportunities for implementing investment projects in Armenia.

In particular, the interlocutors discussed the avenues for exporting various products from Armenia to Singapore.

Shanmugaratnam, for his part, said the Singaporean government also attaches importance to the development of cooperation with Armenia. In addition, he extended to Nikol Pashinyan the invitation of his country’s prime minister to visit Singapore. The latter’s deputy PM added that Armenians in Singapore are known as exemplary citizens and they have a high reputation in the country.

At the same time, Tharman Shanmugaratnam deemed ambitious the Armenian government programs aimed at combating corruption, improving the business climate, and modernizing the system of governance in Armenia.

PM Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, informed the Singaporean deputy PM that Armenia will be hosting the 2019 World Congress On Information Technology in October, and underscored the Singaporean companies’ attendance to this major event.

Also, they discussed the implementation of specific programs in tourism, environment protection, and aviation.
