NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said NATO wants to Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty between the United States and Russia.

NATO will work to preserve the treaty and to strengthen control on the arms.

He said that NATO “will consider various options” in the event of the termination of the INF Treaty to ensure “credible deterrence and defense measures”.

Stoltenberg added that NATO does not want new arms race.
