Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could make a delayed visit to the US in July due to the NATO summit to be held on July 12-13. US Under Secretary of State John Bass said this during his remarks at the 39th American-Turkish Conference in Washington.

The US looks forward to President Erdogan at the NATO summit in July. Turkey has played an important and positive role in the context of the Ukrainian conflict, Bass said, in particular, reported Yeni Akit newspaper.

The American diplomat added that Turkey has done important work in resolving many regional crises.

According to the Turkish authorities, Erdogan's visit to the US was initially planned for early May. The media reported that it was supposed to be on May 9.
