President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has signed a law prescribing administrative liability for disseminating information offending the public, the state and state emblems, reports RIA Novosti.

The law prescribes 30-100,000 Russian rubles for disrespectful publications and 100-200,000 Russian rubles or up to 15 days of arrest for recidivism.

If such actions have been committed by a person who has committed the same violations more than twice, the amount of the penalty shall comprise 200-300,000 Russian rubles or up to 15 days of arrest.

In all cases, the prosecution bodies of the Russian Federation will be notified about the institution of cases of administrative offences within 24 hours.
