French writer Michel Welbeck received from the hands of French President Emmanuel Macron the country's highest award — the Order of the Legion of Honor.

The ceremony was held on Thursday evening, TASS reported referring to France Info.

Welbeck arrived at the presidential residence, accompanied by his young wife and a number of friends, in particular the singer and musician Jean-Louis Aubert. Also Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and writer Frederic Beigbeder were also present.

Welbeck is currently the most translatable French writer. His latest novel, Serotonin, which was released at the beginning of the year, is also a great success in French-speaking countries.
