Russia believes that the final status of Nagorno-Karabakh should be determined through talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the spokesperson for Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters on Friday.

According to her, the situation is relatively calm on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“However, we are concerned that the parties continue to make mutual accusations under some pretexts. Such rhetoric does not meet the interests of creating favorable conditions for the negotiation process and, accordingly, searching for compromise options for resolving the conflict,” she said.

According to the official representative of the Foreign Ministry, Russia believes that the final status of Nagorno-Karabakh should be determined through talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

As one of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia remains focused on assisting in the comprehensive promotion of the peace process, Zakharova noted adding that Russian position remains unchanged.
