YEREVAN. – We are consistent in our position on the matter of settlement of the Karabakh conflict. Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on Thursday said this to reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia, and commenting on the most recent accusations by Azerbaijan.

In his words, the Armenian party to this conflict has always had one position regarding this matter, and has spoken about the same thing.

“We have our approaches, our position; we have said about the parity of their comparison,” the FM noted. “We have said about what [Karabakh’s] status, security, Karabakh’s participation [in the peace talks], etc. stand for.”

Mnatsakanyan added that the Armenian party is very consistent.

He considered the statements by the Azerbaijani side as unacceptable, especially when they go beyond the bounds of courtesy.

The Armenian FM noted that the Karabakh negotiation process is quite dynamic this year.

“We haven’t taken any breaks since May last year [after the revolution in Armenia], and have immediately started working,” Zohrab Mnatsakanyan added. “Our objective now is to continue the discourse at the level of foreign ministers [of Armenia and Azerbaijan].”
