Periodic consultations between Armenia and Artsakh on conflict resolution and regional security are of paramount importance, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told reporters on Friday.

His remarks came in response to comment on the recent trip of Armenian diplomats to Artsakh.

According to him, all issues that somehow related to the priorities of the foreign policy of Armenia, Artsakh, and common goals were discussed at the meeting.

“This is extremely important and emphasizes the consistency of our policies,” the minister said noting that he maintains contacts with Artsakh colleagues.

According to him, such communication is part of each stage of the negotiation process. The minister noted that the voice of Artsakh is of crucial importance, especially since Armenia does not have mandate to speak on behalf of the people of Artsakh. The participation of Artsakh is designed to increase the effectiveness of the negotiation process.
