The developments surrounding the Constitutional Court have become one of the primary, if not the most important, issues of the Armenian political platform, Past daily reported.

Despite the fact that the authorities have tried to get rid of CC President Hrayr Tovmasyan, their initiatives do not have the desired result, the source noted.

According to the source, PM has had some closed discussions with the presence of international experts and constitutionalists and as a result of these meetings, a preliminary political decision has been reportedly made, according to which it will be possible not only to get rid of Tovmasyan but also to abolish the Constitutional Court as an institution.

“It is no coincidence that in recent days, pro-government expert circles have increasingly put this thesis into circulation,” the source added. “Such practice is accepted in international practice.”
