The EU welcomes Armenia's commitment to reform, and to implement the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between the European Union and Armenia (CEPA), Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service Luke Devine said.

Speaking during a press conference dedicated to the second anniversary of signing the CEPA, Mr. Devine said he had a meeting with Deputy PM Mher Grigoryan to discuss the steps that Armenia takes in the direction of implementation of CEPA.

He recalled that Eastern Partnership celebrates its tenth anniversary, and the EU happy that with Armenia we could apply the principle of differentiation.

«This is important to say this, because there are so many divided lines in Europe, while the Eastern Partnership is a policy of building bridges,” Devine said.

The evidence of EU's attitude was the decision to maintain mechanism of preferences GSP + for Armenia, he added.

The EU official noted that the CEPA introduces European standards starting from trade, investment, business opportunities, new jobs and up to environmental issues.

«We are happy that civil society is contributing to the implementation of this agreement,» the EU official added.

Devine also  added that they are pleased to see Armenian government's judiciary reform strategy.
