Real efforts to lift the visa regime with the EU will begin on the day the dialogue begins, said Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts Tuesday during a press conference on the second anniversary of the signing of CEPA.

According to him, the Armenian authorities are unilaterally implementing an initiative aimed at clarifying the positions of a country on the issue of abolishing the visa regime.

“We raise this issue during bilateral visits to the capitals of the EU member states, and we have already visited 10 capitals,” he said adding that Armenia highly appreciates the positive position of the European Commission regarding the start of a dialogue on visa liberalization. “We really hope that the EU member states will come to a consensus on the liberalization of the visa regime, and we hope that this will happen very soon. I must say that our citizens are not satisfied with the simplified visa regime with the EU.”
