The EU is not able to ensure its own security without NATO, the preservation of alliance is in the interests of Germany, said German Chancellor Angela Merkel Wednesday speaking in the Bundestag.
According to her, preserving NATO is in our original interest, TASS reported.
Europe currently cannot defend itself alone, Merkel said adding that it is correct that the German authorities work for the good of the alliance and assume more responsibility within NATO.
