Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has commented on charges brought against Armenian third president Serzh Sargsyan over large-scale embezzlement.
“I can not say more than was made public,” he said adding that there was a fuel subsidy program for agriculture in Armenia.
“This is our government that covered up this program because we thought it was a corruption program, in fact, the villagers did not give anything,” he said. “We were criticized for this. It is now becoming clear that a competition has been announced under the subsidy program for these petroleum products, and a cheap price is being offered during the competition. According to the materials of the case, Serzh Sargsyan instructs the state body to buy diesel fuel not from a company offering cheaper, but from a company whose name, I am sure, will not say anything to any of you. The name of this company is ‘Flash.’”
