Former Bolivian President Evo Morales flew to Cuba to undergo a medical examination, Gabriela Montano, the former health minister under Morales’ administration, told Reuters.

“President Evo Morales is in Cuba for a medical appointment with the Cuban medical team that treated him in Bolivia,” she said.

According to her, the ex-president of Bolivia flew to Cuba on Friday morning, and the trip will be short.

Evo Morales resigned in November, when protests broke out in Bolivia dissatisfied with his re-election as president of the country.
