YEREVAN. – The Republic party will hold a session today to discuss also the opposition Bright Armenia party leadership’s announcement that they are considering withdrawing their representative Davit Khajakyan from the Yerevan Council of Elders. Ani Khachatryan, a member of the opposition Luys faction at the council, told about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She added that all questions will be answered after the aforesaid session.

As reported earlier, Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the opposition Bright Armenia party and the head of its parliamentary faction, wrote on his Facebook page that the Bright Armenia party was discussing the matter of recalling its only member in the Yerevan Council of Elders, Davit Khajakyan, and the expediency of the continuation of his activities in the council. Later, Marukyan noted that the reason is that they have no influence on the Luys faction, which has three members, of which only Khajakyan is from the Bright Armenia party, whereas the other two members—Ani Khachatryan and Tehmina Vardanyan—are from the Republic party.
