Presidents of Russia and Turkey discussed during a phone conversation the situation over escalation of military confrontation in Libya.

Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed support for the mediation efforts of the UN and Germany to cease the conflict and resume peace dialogue, Kremlin said in a statement.     

They expressed readiness to provide assistance in establishing contacts within the countries.

Putin and Erdogan also exchanged views on Syria, including in the context of Russian-Turkish agreement to stabilize situation in Idlib and in the northeast of Syria. The presidents underlined importance of boosting joint efforts in the fight against terrorism.
