I am more than grateful to our Armenian counterparts for the fact that they supported the idea of discussing the preparations for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in our countries. This is what head of the Russian delegation, Chair of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev said during a press conference following the joint session of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia and the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia at the National Assembly today.

According to him, Russia is sincerely grateful to Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan for agreeing to attend the Victory Parade to be held at Red Square on May 9, 2020. “We reached an agreement on the program of events in Armenia and Russia, as well as in the territories of third countries that are linked to the Victory to the extent that we reach a point where the international community acknowledges the victory over Nazism following WWII as the world heritage of mankind and the monuments eternalizing that victory as world monuments of mankind,” Kosachev said.
