The US Armed Forces will equip 372 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters with the latest active phased array radars, TASS reported referring to the US Department of Defense.

Northrop Grumman was awarded a $ 1.008 billion contract to organize the production of 372 radars with AFAR for F-16 fighters of the Air Force. Works should be completed by May 2027.

Multipurpose fighter F-16 is the main combat aircraft of the US Air Force. According to the World Air Forces 2020 handbook, the Air Force has 790 aircraft of this type in service. The F-16 fighter is also the most common combat aircraft in the world - as of December 2019, the air forces of all countries of the world have 2,280 aircraft (16% of the global fleet of military aircraft).
