Samvel Uzunyan hasn’t been summoned to an interview because, in this case, he would be summoned as an accused-on-trial or suspect, meaning there already had to be criminal prosecution, and he could only be criminally prosecuted by the Prosecutor General or upon the consent of the Supreme Judicial Council, as reported Spokesperson of the Special Investigation Service Marina Ohanjanyan.

As far as leaving the country is concerned, Ohanjanyan stated that Armenian legislation proscribes restriction on the right of free movement of a person, if criminal prosecution is not instituted against him or her.

As reported earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia told Armenian News-NEWS.am that on the evening of December 20, upon satisfaction of the motions submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office by the Supreme Judicial Council, upon the decision of the acting Prosecutor General of Armenia, the Deputy Prosecutor General, Samvel Uzunyan was engaged in the case as an accused-on-trial, and the decision was forwarded to the Special Investigation Service to solve the issue of bringing a charge against him and selecting a preventive measure. Detention was selected as a preventive measure. In the period of submission and consideration of motions, Uzunyan crossed the state border of the Republic of Armenia, and a decision was rendered to declare a search against him.
