YEREVAN. – The strategy for the development of the agricultural sector for 2020-2022 is based on such principles as aggregation, quality assurance, youth engagement, export diversification and risk management, land reform, and technology upgrading. Ira Panosyan, Head of the Department of Agricultural Programs Development, Resource Use and Cooperation Development at the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, stated this at a December 24 press conference. According to her, the results of the respective reforms are planned to be made tangible in the short, medium, and long term.

In his turn, Deputy Minister of Economy Tigran Gabrielyan noted that the program "Development of Cattle Breeding in Armenia 2019-2024" has been launched in agriculture, and within the framework of which 304 cattle have already been acquired as of November 30.

And according to another Deputy Minister of Economy, Artak Kamalyan, during the 11 months of 2019, 8,000 agricultural loans were provided to farmers, and at the amount of 32 billion drams, and the number of beneficiaries increased by 73% and the number of loans extended—by 61%—compared to last year.
