Member of the Council of Elders of Yerevan Henrik Hartenyan, who represents the My Step Alliance, posted on his Facebook page after dropping his mandate today.

“Dear compatriots, due to the situation that has been created, I apologize and believe my work in the Council of Elders of Yerevan is incompatible. Thus, I am dropping my mandate,” he wrote.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am had reported that member of the My Step faction of the Council of Elders of Yerevan Henrik Hartenyan had posted on his Facebook page a photo of the daughter of President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan and written the following: “This is the Facebook page of Hrayr Tovmasyan’s daughter. Let’s see what you have to say, people.”

This sparked criticism on social networks. Later, the member of the Council of Elders deleted it from his Facebook page.

Today the My Step faction of the Council of Elders of Yerevan convened an urgent meeting and declared that Henry Hartenyan would drop his mandate.
