To this day, Azerbaijan hasn’t overcome xenophobia. This is what member of the Armenian parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mikayel Melkumyan declared in his speech at the PACE Winter Session, emphasizing the fact that the statements that representative of the Azerbaijani delegation Samad Seyidov made before his speech don’t correspond to reality.

Melkumyan went on to stress the fact that security and global warming are the two major issues facing the world today and thoroughly touched upon global warming.

According to him, urgent investments need to be made to ramp up emissions from coal effectively. “Yes, we need to force large emitting countries to provide funding for scientists to create ramping technologies very quickly, and it would be right for the PACE to consider the issue so that we have the right, but also responsibility,” he said, adding that warming of the climate by 1 degree leads to the death of tens of thousands of people.
