The first two cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Portugal, reports SIC Noticias, citing the health authorities.

The two people infected with COVID-19 have been hospitalized at the hospital in Porto. One of them, who is a doctor by profession, had recently traveled to northern Italy for a vacation, while the other patient had started working in Spain, reports RIA Novosti.

As reported earlier, Chilean writer Luis Sepulveda, who had pneumonia caused by the coronavirus in Spain and was hospitalized there, had paid a visit to Portugal to participate in a congress.
