I am already in Yerevan, today we have to discuss important issues and make important decisions. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on Facebook livestream.

"We must address, in particular, the matter of whether there is a need to declare a state of emergency in Armenia, or in certain parts of the republic, regarding the coronavirus," he stressed. "In any case, whatever our decision is, its sole purpose will be to prevent further spread of coronavirus [in the country]. We will make the maximum effective decision and will inform you all. "

"Of course, a state of emergency, even if declared, will not change our lives much," the prime minister added. "Only tighter surveillance will be set at the more epidemic risk zones."

He urged people not to worry too much.

"We have no problem with food," the prime minister said, urging people to trust only the information disseminated by the government.

"Yes, this is a crisis," he added. "But we must come out of this crisis stronger."
