Four Israeli fighter jets have violated Lebanese air borders and appeared in the sky over Beirut,  Al-Manar TV station reported referring to the statement of the Lebanese army command.

According to it, the jets appeared from the sea over the southern outskirts of the city and proceeded along the coast to the north of the country, TASS reported.

Lebanon has repeatedly sent complaints to the UN Security Council, accusing Israel of violating its sovereignty, including with the aim of launching missile strikes at military facilities in neighboring Syria.

On June 3, Lebanese PM Hassan Diab, speaking to the ambassadors of five states that are permanent members of the UN Security Council, said that Israel in 2019 violated Lebanese sovereignty 2,551 times. According to him, since the beginning of 2020, the Israeli Air Force invaded over 250 times in Lebanese airspace.

The command of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon considers the flights of Israeli aviation a violation of UNSC resolution 1701.

In the meantime, the Israeli military justifies such flights by the need to monitor the actions of the Shia Hezbollah armed police, whose soldiers are fighting in Syria on the side of government forces.
