Armenian banks have delayed loan payments in the amount of nearly AMD 1,300,000,000,000. This is what Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan declared during a discussion on the annual report on the activities of the Central Bank in 2019 held as part of the session of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly today.

According to Galstyan, the loans of nearly 550,000 natural persons and 17,400 legal persons were delayed.

Galstyan recalled that the Central Bank had supported the banks’ decision back in March and had declared that the delays wouldn’t have an impact on borrowers’ credit histories.
