All social media and mobile internet have resumed operations Wednesday in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk at around 6:50am local time, RIA Novosti reported.

They were disconnected on the evening of August 9, when the presidential elections were being held in the country.

After the voting, which, according to the Central Election Commission, incumbent Aleksandr Lukashenko won by 80.08% of the votes, mass protests started across the country.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus said one person was killed during the riots on Monday night as he tried to throw an unknown explosive device at police.
