The US Department of Justice claims that North Korean hackers stole millions of dollars from virtual currency accounts and then laundered the stolen funds to cover their tracks, AP reported.
A complaint filed with a federal court in Washington DC requires the confiscation of 280 virtual currency accounts. This came months after Justice Department officials accused North Korean hackers of stealing nearly $ 250 million in virtual currency and two Chinese hackers of more than $ 100 million.
Acting Assistant Attorney General Brian Rabbitt said the new case exposes the current links between North Korea's cyber hacking program and China's cryptocurrency laundering network.
