Touching upon the statement that second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan made in an interview with RBK, stating that the relations between Armenia and Russia are being corroded and that Armenia is being ‘Sorosized’, deputy of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Mikayel Melkumyan told reporters that the Armenian-Russian relations aren’t linked to the policy led by any Armenian government.

“The Armenian people are quite cordial towards the Russians. Armenia is linked to Russia’s economy and is a member state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union, and the military base of Russia in Armenia and the whole structure of air defense show that Armenia’s relations with Russia can’t worsen. There may be certain problems, but in the broad sense, there can’t be worsening of relations due to our state and national interests,” the deputy emphasized.
