The EU's decision to extend individual sanctions on Russia for six months was published in the Official Journal on Friday and comes into force on September 12, RIA Novosti reported.

The European Union extended Thursday sanctions on individuals and organizations that continue to undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine.

The decision will enter into force the day after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, the document says. The decision will be valid until March 15, 2021.

These sanctions include travel restrictions and an asset freeze in the EU, they will continue to apply to 175 individuals and 44 organizations, the release notes.
