The US can impose neither negotiations nor war on Iran. This is what President of Iran Hassan Rouhani declared in his speech at the 75th General Assembly of the United Nations.
Rouhani said political freedom is important, and Iran, as the oldest democracy in the Middle East, takes pride in the fact that its people determine their fate, and it will not put internal freedom up for auction.
Rouhani added that the US is blaming Iran for trying to create a nuclear weapon without any ground and imposing sanctions against others with the pretext of creating a nuclear weapon, but the US has a shameful reputation of being the only country that has used nuclear bombs in the history of mankind.
Expressing gratitude to the members of the UN Security Council, especially Russia and China, Rouhani stated that the two crucial ‘no’s to the US government’s attempt to use the UN Security Council and its Resolution is a victory for not only Iran, but also the international community.
